Diagonal Mar, which was acquired in 2006, is one of the largest shopping centres in the Cataluña region, comprising approximately 87,000 square metres of retail space over three floors. Constructed in 2001, the centre benefitted from excellent footfall, high occupancy levels and a consistently strong trading environment. Its anchor tenants included Media Markt, Cinesa and Fnac, while major fashion tenants included Primark, Zara, H&M and Massimo Dutti. In light of strong investor demand for prime retail assets in Spain and following a competitive marketing campaign, Diagonal Mar was sold in August 2016 to a European institutional investor.
